    POC Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    This Proof of Concept (POC) will demonstrate a centralized Linux patch management solution for Ubuntu 24.04 virtual machines<\/strong>.The POC will use Semaphore and Ansible<\/strong> to manage and execute Linux patching activities, with an internal APT repository<\/strong> providing a controlled source of Ubuntu packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The purpose of the POC is to demonstrate the complete working process of Linux patch management, including package availability, patch selection, patch deployment, reboot handling, and post-patching validation.The environment will be deployed within a private VNet to demonstrate secure communication between the patch management components and the Linux servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Objective<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The primary objective of this POC is to demonstrate how Linux patching can be centrally managed using Semaphore and Ansible, with Ubuntu packages provided through an internal APT repository<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The POC will demonstrate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Centralised Linux patch management through Semaphore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ansible-based execution of patching tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ubuntu 24.04 servers using an internal APT repository.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Identification and installation of available Linux updates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Controlled reboot handling when required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Pre-patching and post-patching validation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Visibility of patching activities through Semaphore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Consistent patching procedures across multiple Ubuntu servers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
